How Much Does the PS5 Pro Cost in Norway?
According to price-tracking site Prisjakt, the PS5 Pro has held a remarkably stable price through the summer of 2026, sitting between 10,630 and 10,789 NOK — currently priced around 10,789 NOK. That's roughly 2,900 NOK more than a standard PS5 Slim, and the disc drive isn't included; adding one costs approximately 1,000 NOK more.
Why Are Delivery Dates Being Pushed to November?
Price stability is the good news — availability is the catch. As of mid-September 2026, several of Norway's biggest electronics retailers are listing future delivery dates rather than in-stock units, with Power quoting availability around mid-September and some listings pushed all the way to November. Prisjakt has directly flagged the timing concern for shoppers: if you're hoping to have a PS5 Pro ready for GTA 6 or under the Christmas tree, buying sooner rather than later is genuinely advisable given how far out some restock estimates are running.
Best Retailers to Buy a PS5 Pro in Norway
| Retailer | What to Know |
|---|---|
| Elkjøp | One of Norway's largest electronics chains; check the product page directly for current delivery estimates before ordering |
| Power | Has quoted delivery dates around mid-September during the current tight-stock period — confirm the estimate shown before you commit to an order |
| Prisjakt | Not a retailer itself, but Norway's leading price-comparison site — useful for checking the current price and which retailers actually have stock versus a future delivery date |
Because so many listings right now show a delivery date rather than immediate stock, it's worth checking Prisjakt first to see which retailer has the soonest realistic delivery window before placing an order.
Should You Buy Now for GTA 6?
Grand Theft Auto 6 launches November 19, 2026, and is confirmed as a "PS5 Pro Enhanced" title on the PlayStation Store, with Sony positioning the PS5 family as the game's lead platform. Given that some Norwegian retailers are already quoting November delivery windows for the PS5 Pro, anyone hoping to have the console in hand for launch day should factor in that lead time and order well ahead of November rather than waiting.
One thing worth knowing before you commit: Digital Foundry's Richard Leadbetter has pointed out that the PS5 Pro shares essentially the same CPU as the base PS5, which makes a guaranteed 60fps mode for a CPU-heavy game like GTA 6 uncertain. The console's confirmed strengths are a stronger GPU, improved ray tracing, and PSSR upscaling — not a locked frame-rate promise.
PS5 Pro vs Standard PS5: Is It Worth the Extra Cost?
- Worth it if: you own a 4K TV, regularly play titles with a "PS5 Pro Enhanced" label, and prioritize ray tracing and visual fidelity — the console also supports Wi-Fi 7, which is a genuine forward-looking upgrade even if it's overkill for most home networks today.
- Skip it if: you're on a 1080p or basic 4K display, or mostly play games that already run well on the standard PS5 — at roughly 2,900 NOK more than the PS5 Slim, plus the cost of a separate disc drive if you want one, it's a meaningful jump.
FAQ
What is the current price of the PS5 Pro in Norway?
Around 10,789 NOK, based on current price-tracking data — it's held stable in the 10,630–10,789 NOK range through the summer of 2026.
Is the PS5 Pro in stock in Norway right now?
Availability has become inconsistent. Several major retailers are quoting future delivery dates rather than immediate stock, with some estimates running as late as November 2026, so it's worth checking current delivery windows before ordering rather than assuming same-week availability.
Where's the best place to check PS5 Pro stock and price in Norway?
Prisjakt is the most useful starting point since it compares pricing and (where shown) delivery estimates across Norwegian retailers including Elkjøp and Power in one place.
Should I order now if I want it for GTA 6 or Christmas?
Given that some retailers are already quoting November delivery windows, ordering sooner rather than later is a reasonable precaution if you want the console in hand by GTA 6's November 19 launch or by the holidays.
Does the PS5 Pro come with a disc drive?
No. It's a fully digital console out of the box; a separate disc drive attachment costs roughly 1,000 NOK extra.
Is the PS5 Pro worth buying specifically for GTA 6?
GTA 6 is confirmed as "PS5 Pro Enhanced" with better resolution and ray tracing expected, but a guaranteed 60fps mode isn't confirmed, since the CPU is largely unchanged from the base PS5. Buy for the overall visual upgrade rather than a specific frame-rate promise.
Final Thoughts
The PS5 Pro's price in Norway has stayed steady at around 10,789 NOK, but stock is the thing to watch right now — with delivery estimates at some retailers stretching into November. If you want one in time for GTA 6 or the holidays, checking Prisjakt for the fastest available delivery window and ordering soon is the smart move.
