How Much Does the PS5 Pro Cost in Sweden Right Now?
The PS5 Pro launched in Sweden at a recommended price of 10,490 SEK. Since then, prices have gradually trended down rather than up. Recent price-comparison data shows Webhallen and MaxGaming listing the console around 9,345 SEK, Amazon.se around 9,290 SEK, and PriceRunner showing offers as low as 8,125 SEK from some sellers. That's a meaningful drop from the original recommended price — worth knowing if you assumed Sweden would follow the price increases seen in the US, UK, and much of the Eurozone this year.
Why Has the Price Dropped Instead of Risen?
Sony's global price increase in April 2026 explicitly affected the US, UK, the Eurozone, and Japan. Sweden, pricing independently in SEK, wasn't part of that announcement, and Swedish retailers have instead been gradually discounting the console over the course of the year as competition between sellers like Elgiganten, Webhallen, NetOnNet, and Amazon.se has pushed street prices below the original 10,490 SEK RRP. It's a genuinely different pattern from what's happening in several neighboring markets right now.

Is It Worth Buying Now for GTA 6?
Grand Theft Auto 6 launches November 19, 2026, and is confirmed as a "PS5 Pro Enhanced" title on the PlayStation Store, with Sony positioning the PS5 family as the game's lead platform. Some retailers, including Elgiganten, have shown certain PS5-related listings with delivery estimates stretching close to the GTA 6 launch window itself, so if you want the console ready for day one, it's worth ordering with some lead time rather than waiting until November.
One thing worth knowing: Digital Foundry's Richard Leadbetter has pointed out that the PS5 Pro shares essentially the same CPU as the base PS5, making a guaranteed 60fps mode for a CPU-heavy game like GTA 6 uncertain. The console's confirmed strengths are a stronger GPU, improved ray tracing, and PSSR upscaling — not a locked frame-rate promise.
PS5 Pro vs Standard PS5: Is It Worth It?
- Worth it if: you own a 4K TV, regularly play titles with a "PS5 Pro Enhanced" label, and want the extra 2TB of storage the Pro includes as standard, plus Wi-Fi 7 support for future-proofing.
- Skip it if: you're on a 1080p or basic 4K display, or mostly play games that already run well on the standard PS5. Note that the disc drive isn't included — it's a separate purchase costing roughly 2,299 SEK if you want physical media support.
FAQ
What is the current price of the PS5 Pro in Sweden?
Recent tracked prices range from around 8,125 SEK to 9,345 SEK depending on the retailer, down from the original 10,490 SEK recommended price at launch.
Why hasn't the PS5 Pro's price gone up in Sweden like it has elsewhere?
Sony's April 2026 global price increase specifically named the US, UK, Eurozone, and Japan. Sweden prices independently in SEK, and retailer competition has instead pushed street prices down over the course of 2026.
Where's the cheapest place to buy a PS5 Pro in Sweden right now?
Webhallen and MaxGaming have recently shown some of the lowest tracked prices, with PriceRunner useful for comparing current offers across multiple retailers at once.
Does the PS5 Pro come with a disc drive in Sweden?
No. It's a fully digital console out of the box; a separate Ultra HD disc drive attachment costs approximately 2,299 SEK.
Should I order now if I want it for GTA 6?
Since some retailers have shown delivery estimates stretching close to the November 19 GTA 6 launch date, ordering with some lead time is a reasonable precaution if you want the console ready for launch day.
Is the PS5 Pro worth buying specifically for GTA 6?
GTA 6 is confirmed as "PS5 Pro Enhanced" with better resolution and ray tracing expected, but a guaranteed 60fps mode isn't confirmed, since the CPU is largely unchanged from the base PS5. Buy for the overall visual upgrade rather than a specific frame-rate promise.
Final Thoughts
Sweden is one of the few places right now where PS5 Pro pricing has actually improved rather than worsened, with street prices well below the original 10,490 SEK RRP. Webhallen, Amazon.se, and MaxGaming are your best bets for the current lowest price — just make sure to order with enough lead time if you want the console in hand before GTA 6 launches in November.
